We recognize the people whose ancestral lands are the place on which we live and organize. The Lower Columbia River has been stewarded by Indigenous tribes since time immemorial. Cathlapotle is our nearest village and its people spoke multiple languages. The land on which Ridgefield was built was a trading hub for Indigenous peoples including the Chinook* and Cowlitz tribes. We honor them and their descendents who continue to bring light to their rich heritage.

*The Chinook Indian Nation has been seeking federal recognition since 1851, learn more at https://chinooknation.org/
